The Shreveport Mudbugs clinching a spot in the Robertson Cup championships with a win Sunday night over Lone Star.
The Bugs packed up and went to Dallas for practice today since the ice has already been removed for the Miss USA pageant.
They’re still riding on Cloud 9, but they know it’s time to put Sunday’s game behind them and get back to business.
Karlis Zirnis said, “We wanted to get to this point and at the end of it we got here. It’s been a big task but we haven’t accomplished our ultimate goal. We talk about emotions and you worry about the next day just one step at a time and today going to Dallas and having a good practice in Dallas, that’s the next step.”
Cam Cook said, “The plan is to stick to the plan. We’re not going to change anything up. Just keep it simple, keep taking care of the bodies especially with the travel we got right now. Take care of the bodies and be ready to go for game time.”
The Mudbugs start a best of three series with Wilkes Barre/Scranton on Friday night. Puck drop is set for 7:30. A win in that series will put the Bugs in the NAHL championship game.
