Mudbugs Looking for Fast Start in Playoff Opener

Sports

It’s playoff hockey time for the Shreveport Mudbugs, and the defending champs are opening the post-season against a familiar opponent.

The Bugs are taking on Lone Star in the first round.

These two just played this past weekend, both of those games resulting in losses for the Bugs.

The Mudbugs have to go on the road to open the best of five series, so they know it’s important to get off to a fast start this weekend.

Jason Campbell said, “We need to go in there like we want to win both. A split is great, but we’ve got to set our sights high, and we’ve got to go get after that first game right off of the drop of the puck, and then we go from there and play the game. There isn’t any pressure you know.  There’s no pressure to win, you just have to go out and play the game hard, and give yourself the opportunity to win.”

The Mudbugs and Lone Star will begin their playoff series this weekend in the DFW Metroplex. Puck drop in game one is set for 7:30 on Friday.
