Mudbugs Preview Home Opener against Lone Star

Sports

The Mudbugs are back in action this Friday against Lone Star for their home opener at Hirsch Coliseum. The Bugs have gone a perfect 5-0 in their preseason matchups and have high levels of confidence for the returning players and a number of new faces on the roster..

Coach Karlis Zirnis said: “I don’t have to say much, taking on the champs and coaches jersey gets retired so we obviously want to be the spoilers and we spoil the party. At the same time we just have to worry about how we play and whats our strengths in our game.”

Dominic Skrelja said: “I think the keys against Lone Star are just keep it simple. Everyone play their role do what you do and do it best, that is a recipe for success. I think its going to be a close game, I don’t think its going to be a blowout either way. Its going to be a hard fought game.”

Alex Spencer: “They won the league last year. We had a tough battle with them all year and its going to be fun to see what they’ve got this year.”
