Parkway Honors State Champion Wrestling Team

Sports

The Parkway Panthers held their wrestling awards ceremony Tuesday evening.

The Panthers won their second straight state championship in February.

On Tuesday, the team was presented with their state title rings.

NBC 6 sports director Tim Owens was the guest speaker for the event, and spoke to the Panthers about his past experiences on the wrestling mat.

Parkway head coach Emmett Beggs said overall it was a meaningful night.

Emmett Beggs said, “It’s really cool because we’ve been able to do it for now two years in a row. We have sophomores and freshman who have never been a year without having a ring. It’s pretty cool we have our seniors that are getting their individual state championship rings the three of them who also won their individual titles so its a neat thing we get out here and celebrate we eat, we get to have Tim talk.”
