SHREVEPORT, La. – The 24th-ranked LSU Shreveport Pilots women’s basketball team began their quick two-game home stand with a 77-46 win over the Texas College Steers on Thursday evening at The Dock in Red River Athletic Conference action.
The Pilots improve to 17-0 on the season and 6-0 in the RRAC while Texas College slides to 2-14 and 1-5 in the league.
“This was a big win for us tonight because it’s important to protect you home court during conference play which we have been able to do so far,” said LSUS Head Coach Matt Cross. “We have another big home game on Saturday against St. Thomas which will be tough. I’ve almost found that the stretch between mid-January to mid-February is always toughest for a team to stay focused. We need to find ways to continue to get better as a team.”
The Pilots are back in action against St. Thomas on Saturday at 2 p.m. at The Dock.
