SHREVEPORT, La. – The LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team could not get a big hit late in the game in a 5-3 loss against the Texas A&M-Texarkana Eagles on Tuesday evening at Pilot Field. The Pilots go to 8-6 on the season while Texarkana improves to 7-2.

TOP PERFORMERS
Jordan Trahan (JR/Dayton, Texas) was the only Pilot with multi hits as he went 2-for-4 with a run batted in on his first home run of the season.

The Pilots used a total of six pitchers in the mid-week contest as Stachys McLoud (JR/Overland Park, Kansas) and Pat Day(SR/Tyler, Texas) were the only two to have scoreless innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Eagles scored first as they pushed across an unearned-run in the top of the first to take the early lead.

Then they added single runs in the 4th and 5th innings to extend their lead to 3-0.

The Pilots scored three times in the bottom of the 5th inning as Trahan ripped the first pitch he saw over the left field wall followed by a double to deep center by Cain Brady (SR/Jacksonville, Illinois). Jake Gray (FR/Sibley, Louisiana) then walked and Brady scored on Chase Spatafora (SO/Farmerville, Louisiana)’s single to center field. Later in the inning the Pilots added an unearned run to tie the game at three.

Texarkana took the lead for good in the 6th with a pair of unearned runs.
