Once again the LSUS Pilots will be hosting the RRAC tournament this weekend.
The Pilots are entering the field as the number one seed, having clinched the regular season title two weeks ago.
That earned them an automatic berth in the NAIA opening round.
With clinching so early, there’s always that fear of the team going into auto-pilot mode, but Coach Lavallee says they’ve approached that head on.
Brent Lavallee said, “Having clinched with two weeks to go, it’s been, not a challenge, but it’s been different to keep the guys focused and to keep your minds right. So, we’re looking forward to this challenge, and we’re looking forward to the opening round, but we have a championship we’d like to win here again.”
The Pilots will open play at the RRAC tournament on Friday against Southwest. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 at Pilot Field.
