SHREVEPORT, La – The LSU Shreveport Pilots put on defensive clinic in the first half to get out to a big lead and did not look back defeating the Texas College Steers by a final of 94-73. The Pilots improve to 15-1 overall and 5-1 in the Red River Athletic Conference and the Steers fall to 5-10 overall and 1-5 in conference play.
“I’m really proud of the guys for buying into the game plan defensively and making a conscious effort to do the things we’ve worked on the last three days of practice,” said LSUS Head Coach Kyle Blankenship. “I thought tonight was probably our best effort of the year. Our first shot defense was the best it’s been in a long time. We just need to do a better job of limiting teams to one shot and not give them second and third chances.”
The Pilots are back in action Saturday against St. Thomas at The Dock at 4 p.m.
