Pleasant Grove attributes success of the season to special players

The Pleasant Grove Hawks punched their ticket back to a state championship game Friday night with a dominant 49-14 win over Iowa Park. Back to back state appearances something that’s never been done in the programs history. Coach Gibson says that’s something that means a lot and it was possible because of the caliber players he has on the team.

“Josh Gibson – Just kids picking each other up you know we’ve had to play through the lows this year and been resilient so I think that’s the character of our team and they responded and that was awesome. I’m just proud that our kids are back in a huge moment and we get to spend one more week with them, pretty special.”

“Ben Harmon – It means a lot to me just because I grew up in Texarkana my entire life and to see the number of great teams that have come through it and to know that we’re the first ones to go back to back its really special.”
