Pleasant Grove looks to slow down Texas commit Jordan Whittington in Title Game

Sports

The Pleasant Grove Hawks have never doubted their ability to make it to back to back state championships.

Now here they are just one game away from defending that 2017 state title.

Every season for every sport the goal is to win a championship and that vision usually becomes clearer as the season progresses.

One challenge head coach Josh Gibson is expecting to face against this Cuero team, not only their talented roster but the fact that their vision on getting to a state title has also been 20/20.

Gibson said, “Cuero is a really good football team they’ve been ranked up at the top of the state for a good part of the year. Kind of been a favorite to make it to a state championship. Really fast team athletic have one of the best football players in the state of Texas in a kid named Jordan Whittington that plays wide receiver, quarterback, wildcat quarterback for them he’s going to Texas and plays free safety for them as well but they’ve got a lot of other great football players and they’re a good team.”

So as we can expect for a state championship game we’ve got a great football game coming your way on Friday morning.

Kickoff from AT&T Stadium is set for 11am.
