Previous State Experience Helping Lakeside

For the second straight season the Lakeside Warriors are heading to the state tournament after their series win over Many.

It’s been a weird year for the Warriors, starting 2-11 before going 19-6 down the stretch to reach this point.

This group returns 6 starters from last year’s state runner-up team, and they say that will help them this weekend in Sulphur.

Dalton Crumpler said, “Well we kind of know what to expect now that we’re down there because we’ve been down there before, so it’s really not, our nerves aren’t uptight like they were last year.”

Logan McIver said, “Because we know how the atmosphere is. All of the fans, how they’re going to be, and how if you get a bad call from an umpire or something like that not to freak out because we’ve still go ball left to play. So, we’re going to take that experience into this weekend and see if we can pull it out.”

Warriors will take on Welsh in the state semifinals on Friday down in Sulphur. First pitch set for 1 o’clock.
