The Atlanta Rabbits are two series wins away from a trip to Round Rock for the state baseball tournament.
The Rabbits are coming off a weekend where they lost the opener, and then played their best baseball with their backs against the wall, beating White Oak by a combined 22-4 in games two and three to advance.
Atlanta now turns it’s attention to another tough opponent in Van Alstyne.
Coach Hooten says the Rabbits just need to keep playing their game.
David Hooten said, “I think we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing. We’ve been pitching really well. Throwing strikes, not walking many guys, and had a lot of timely hitting. So, I think it’s one of those things where we’ve got to continue playing our game. We’ve been playing really sound defense. I think in three games we had one error. So, the kids just got to keep treating it like it’s another game. Obviously the intensity picks up. You’ve just got to keep playing it like it’s any other game.”
Atlanta will begin their regional semifinals series against Van Alstyne on Thursday.
Game one set for 7 o’clock.
Games two and three would be on Saturday.
