Things didn’t exactly go as planned on draft night for former North Caddo Rebel Robert Williams, falling to the 27th pick before being snatched up by the Celtics.
Williams is now with the team preparing for summer league, but didn’t get off to the greatest start.
Williams missed his flight to Boston, causing him to miss the first practice.
Williams slipped in the draft because of concerns about his work ethic, but he’s taking responsibility for this misstep and is ready to move on.
Robert Williams said, “It was more of a self upset because people already have a bad image of me I guess you could say. So, just missing my flight didn’t help, but like I said, just looking to strive past that. Just accountability, which they expressed to me a lot when I first got here. Just accountability, and just stressing that this is a job. Things are different in college. So, just knowing what you have and the opportunities.
Williams is expected to make his summer league debut on Friday at 6:30 against the 76ers in Las Vegas.
