It may have taken until the final game of the regular season, but the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs got their first walk-off win of the year on Saturday.
Fittingly, it was senior Dalton Skelton getting the game winning hit.
Skelton, the lone senior position player, came up big when the Bulldogs needed him the most.
Coach Burroughs says it sums up his entire career at love field.
Lane Burroughs said, “Well I mean, it’s just unbelievable. That guy’s been so solid for us. He plays a tough position, short stop. There’s a lot of action that goes on there. He’s only missed two starts in his career, so for him to play that position, and play it well. He’s a guy that’s already graduated. He graduated last quarter. He takes care of his buisness. He’s just been so solid for our program and what we’re trying to do here, and to have him come up and do that in his last at bat at home here, it mean’s so much to me, and I know it does to him and his family.”
The Bulldogs will open the Conference USA tournament Wednesday against Rice.
