Employees returned to the Aurora, Illinois factory Monday where five coworkers were gunned down in a mass shooting last week for a memorial service and grief counseling.
The plant will remain closed for the rest of the week.
Gary Martin, 45, opened fire at the Henry Pratt Company plant during a meeting in which he was being fired, killing five coworkers, shooting another and wounding five officers who responded to the scene.
Illinois State Police Martin should not have had a gun.
Investigators said Saturday that he had been ordered to surrender his firearm, the same 40 caliber pistol used in the shooting, five years ago after a felony conviction. He never complied.
