Police have arrested a woman for sex crimes against her own children.
In January, detectives with the West Monroe Police Department received reports of sex crimes involving two children ages 13 and 11.
The children are in North Carolina with family.
Both children reported to authorities that their mother, 42-year-old Cara Lewis, abused them physically and sexually.
The 13-year-old reported that Lewis forced him to watch pornography multiple times and also sexually battered him by “messing with his junk.”
The 11-year-old reported that Lewis and another male touched “her front part”.
She also told authorities that Lewis performed sexual acts on her by “humping her”.
According to court documents both children were also food deprived, locked out of their home for an entire day, and beaten several times by their mother and her boyfriends.
One beating included a piece of wood with nails in it.
On May 8, 2018, Lewis went to WMPD for an interview where she admitted to physically abusing her children along with locking them out of the home for an entire day.
She also admitted that the children were possibly food deprived because she was unable to support them.
Lewis denied all allegations of sexual abuse, but stated that she was using methamphetamine heavily during that time.
She is being held in the Ouachita Correctional Center on $215,000 bond.
She is charged with the following:
- Indecent Behavior with Juveniles
- Child Desertion
- (2 counts) Sexual Battery
- Second Degree Cruelty to Juveniles
