SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Update (10:57 a.m.): The Shreveport Fire Department battled a blaze of a two-story house fire Wednesday morning in record freezing temperatures.
Investigators say at 12:25 a.m. firefighters were called to a heavy fire coming from a vacant two-story wood-frame home in the 1200 block of Sprague Street.
Incident commander, Battalion Chief Bob placed the situation under control at 1:26 a.m. using multiple hand lines and two ladder trucks. Firefighters had to protect the adjacent structures to prevent the fire from spreading.
SFD says there were 13 fire units and 37 firefighters on the scene. No injuries have been reported.
The incident is still under investigation.
