Victim shot near Stoner boat launch identified

A man who was shot and killed during an altercation near the Stoner boat launch earlier this week has been identified.

The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office identified the man as 62-year-old James Tinsley of Shreveport.

On Monday afternoon Tinsley was shot several times in the upper body in the 700 block of East Stoner, near the skate park off of Clyde Fant Parkway. 

Tinsley was taken to University Health where he later died from his injuries.
