Rain to return to late Friday through Saturday morning. Cool temperatures stick around through the weekend. Warming trend begins by the middle of next week.

Thursday morning started off chilly with temperatures near freezing. Thursday afternoon, temperatures recovered into the 50s. Clouds will continue to increase through the evening hours. Lows will drop into the 30s and 40s throughout the region.
Friday, we will see rain on the increase. The rain will begin in East Texas and spread eastward throughout the day. For Deep East Texas and Northwest Louisiana, the rain won’t probably start until the evening. We will see most of the rain during the nighttime and morning hours. The rain should move out during the late morning hours. Scattered showers are possible into the afternoon hours as the system is moving eastward. Rainfall totals will average between half an inch to an inch. Some locally heavier amounts will be possible.
With the rain, temperatures will be chilly with highs into the 50s. After Saturday, we will see a drying trend with temperatures staying in the 50s. Lows will remain into the 30s and 40s. Temperatures will warm into the 60s by midweek. Our next rain chance returns by the end of next week.
