830pm Live Update:
Triple digit heat to return by the end of the work week. Chance for rain to return by the end of the weekend. Below normal temperatures expected early next week.
Tuesday was another mostly sunny and hot day around the Arklatex. Temperatures began in the low to mid 70s and warmed into the mid to upper 90s. Expect even hotter temperatures in the coming days. Upper level high pressure will expand back to the east as a disturbance over the southeastern half of the country lifts out. This will allow daytime highs to return to the triple digits beginning Thursday. That heat will likely stick around through the weekend for much of the area. Overnight lows in the period will be in the mid to upper 70s.
It still looks like a change in the weather pattern over the middle of the country is on the way for early next week. Another trough of upper level low pressure will develop over the middle of the US. This will bring a front through the area Sunday night through Monday. This front will bring a decent shot for some showers and thunderstorms. It will also bring more seasonable temperatures. In fact, below normal temperatures are looking rather promising to begin the week. We will likely stay near or below normal with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s for most of next week. Right now, models are rather disappointing in the amount of rain that they are projecting. It looks like totals will stay below an inch from now through next Tuesday. Stay Tuned.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 94/73.
