Live Weather Update 2/4/19 830pm: Tonight’s agenda: 1. Taste of spring. 2. Cold front to end warmth. 3. ‘Grain of Salt’ Long range outllook shows more cold.
Warm weather to stick around for a few more days with low rain chances. Cold front to bring Thursday storms. Below normal temperatures return behind the front.
Monday was a mostly cloudy and warm day for this time of year. Temperatures began in the low to mid 60s and warmed to the low to mid 70s. Expect little change for the next few days. We will see a slight chance for a scattered shower both Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of a strong cold front that will move thorugh Thursday. Temperatures ahead of this front will likely stay in the low to mid 70s for highs and the low to mid 60s for lows. See the latest 36 hour forecast from Futurecast below.
The front mentioned earlier will roll through the area Thursday and will likely bring a band of showers and thunderstorms. Right now the risk of any severe weather is looking rather low. We will likely see some decent rainfall totals of one to two inches mainly over the northern half of the area. Much colder air will return to the Arklatex behind this front. Highs will drop to the mid to upper 40s. Lows will drop the the upper 20s to low 30s.
Another warming trend will begin Sunday. As this warm air pushes the cold air out, it will bring back a chance for some rain that could begin as soon as Saturday and increase Sunday and especially Monday. Temperatures by the beginning of next week will likely return to the 60s for highs and 40s for lows.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 59/38.
