Sunshine to return Tuesday with one more day of warmth. Below normal temperatures by the end of the week. Work week to end the chance for more heavy rain.
830pm Live Update:
Monday was a mostly cloudy and very mild day around the Arklatex. Despite lots of clouds, temperatures still managed to climb to the mid to upper 60s. Look for sunshine to return to the area Tuesday. After lows in the upper 40s north to the mid 50s south, expect temperatures to return to the 60s for one more day.
A cooling trend will settle in for the rest of the work week. The sunshine will stick around for Wednesday and much of Thursday. Despite this sunshine, highs will dip into the 40s and 50s. Lows will dip back to the 30s. Another strong disturbance wil bring the chance for more heavy rain starting Friday. Look for this rain to stick around through Saturday morning. Models indicate that we could see rainfall totals of over an inch over much of the area. Right now it’s looking doubtful that we will have any worries with severe weather.
Highs for the rest of the seven day period will likely stay near or a little below normal in the upper 40s to low 50s. Overnight lows will be in the low to mid 30s.
Pretty much all of our area lakes and rivers have now crested and will slowly fall in the coming week.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 57/36.
