830pm Monday Live Update from Facebook Live:
Typical summer pattern to continue with slightly above normal temperatures and slight rain chances. Models agree on increase in rain threat starting Sunday.
Monday was a much drier day across the Arklatex. Rain was confined to the southern half of the area. Temperatures began in the low to mid 70s and warmed to the low to mid 90s. Don’t expect a lot of change in the coming days. We will continue to see a mix of sunshine and clouds. With upper level high pressure centered to our west, the above normal temperatures will continue. Look for high in the week ahead to stay in the low to middle 90s. Overnight lows will stay in the low to mid 70s. We will continue to see a small threat for the hit or miss heat driven thunderstorms pretty much everyday this week.
By the end of the weekend, models are hinting that we could see a tropical disturbance move across the western Gulf of Mexico into Texas. This system will bring with it lots of clouds and a better shot for some rain starting Sunday. That decent shot at rain could linger into Monday.
Models indicates that we could get more much needed rainfall. Much of area should expect to see at least an inch of rain the way things look right now. Stay tuned!
Average High/Low for today’s date: 90/69.
