830pm Tuesda Live Update:
Wednesday looking mainly dry and hot. Next best shot at rain returns Friday. Slight cool down next week?
Tuesday was a partly cloudy and hot day for most of the Arklatex. We did see some lingering and persistent rain over the northwest edge of the area. Loo for all of the area to experience a partly cloudy sky Wednesday as temperatures should be near normal. Lows Wednesday morning will be in the low to mid 70s. Daytime highs will return to the low to mid 90s. We will likely see much of the same Thursday with just slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm mainly over the northern half of the area. Look for those rain chances to increase Friday area wide. We will then catch a break from the rain for the most part this weekend with only a very slight chance for a brief pop up storm. Models indicate that this first disturbance won’t produce much as far as rain. Amounts through Saturday morning will likely be less than 1/2 inch.
Check back occasionally to see this continuously updated loop of the outlook from Futurecast.
Models are hinting that a cold front will move through the area sometime late Monday or Tuesday. This will be when we will see our next best shot at some showers and thunderstorms. We could see a decent cool down behind the front with lows possibly retreating well into the 60s and high retreating to the upper 80s to low 90s by the middle of next week. Stay tuned!
Average High/Low for today’s date: 95/72.
