Cooler temperatures Wednesday, rain returns Friday

We are jumping back into January today, as you step outside there will be a chill in the air as temperatures are in the 30s and 40s.

With the dry air moving in behind a cold front we will see some sunshine, but cooler highs as we top out in the mid and upper 50s in most areas. There will be a north wind of 10 miles per hour throughout the day. Overall it will be a partly cloudy, cool, but pleasant day.

Temperatures will keep dropping tomorrow as highs will be in the low 50s. The day will start with sunshine, but end with cloud cover as our next disturbance approaches the region.

Rain will start falling on Friday, especially after the noon hour with the heaviest rain through Saturday morning occurring across the northern ArkLaTex. Forecast models continue to show some 1 to 1.5 inch totals.

We should see the rain taper off late Saturday, with some sun returning Sunday. High temperatures for much of the region will be in the upper 40s Friday through Sunday with the cold air sticking around through at least next Tuesday.
