Expect a mostly cloudy and windy Friday. Cold front to bring some rain and a few t’storms Saturday. Much cooler air moves in Sunday behind the front.
Thursday was another gorgeous day around the Arklatex. Temperatures began in the mid to upper 40s and climbed to the mid to upper 70s. Clouds began to slowly increase. Expect the clouds to continue to thicken up Thursday night. We’ll see a mostly cloudy and windy day Friday. Morning temperatures will not be as cool with lows in the mid 50s. Daytime highs Friday will likely return to the low to mid 70s. We will also see a slight chance for a shower, but most of the area will stay dry. See the latest outlook from Futurecast below:
That will likely change Saturday as a strong cold front makes its way through the area. Expect shower over the northern half of the area where the front arrives sooner. We could see a few thunderstorms over the south where the front arrives in the afternoon. Severe weather looks unlikely at this point with the biggest risk to the north and east of our area. Models continue to indicate that rainfall amounts will be rather limited with totals of less than 1/2“.
Expect much cooler air to move in Sunday behind the front. Daytime highs will fall to the mid to upper 50s. Overnight lows Sunday morning will be in the upper 30s to low 40s. We’ll see lots of clouds both Sunday and Monday with another slight chance for a shower returning Monday.
Expect a warming trend for the rest of next week. Highs will return to the mid 70s by Wednesday. Overnight lows will return to the 40s and 50s. Expect the chance for rain to increase by next weekend.
