Near perfect weather on the way for the weekend. Sunshine to stick around through Tuesday. Strong disturbance could produce a soggy Halloween. Another cool down late next week.
Friday was a partly cloudy and warmer day around the Arklatex. Temperatures began in the upper 40s to low 50s. Daytime highs soared into the mid to upper 60s. Expect the sunshine and warming trend to continue through the weekend. We will see daytime highs soar into the mid to upper 70s Saturday after lows Saturday morning in the 40s and 50s. Sunday expect more sunshine to close the weekend. Lows Sunday morning will be in the mid to upper 50s. Daytime highs will likely be in the low to mid 80s over almost all of the area.
Even though we will continue to see plenty of sunshine both Monday and Tuesday, expect daytime temperatures to moderate some to begin next week. Highs will likely settle back into the mid 70s to low 80s. Overnight lows will continue to warm up as the wind becomes more southerly and moisture moves in from the Gulf of Mexico. Expect morning temperatures to warm to the low to middle 60s for Tuesday and Wednesday.

A strong storm system will move through our area Wednesday and Wednesday night. I’d expect some thunderstorm activity with this system. Right now the jury is still out on the severity of the storms. If anything, we should at least expect to see some heavy rain. Models indicate that rainfall totals of at least an inch look likely with a few isolated 3″ totals possible.

Look for another surge of colder air to return late next week behind this storm system. We will continue to see lots of clouds and a few showers both Thursday and Friday. High temperatures will likely drop back into the 50s and 60s by the end of the week and next weekend. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s.

Average High/Low for today’s date: 75/51. Check back to this article for a LIVE update Friday evening at 9pm!
