Tropical Storm Harvey…Tuesday Morning Update. No real changes in my overall forecast. Harvey did move back over the water and is now at 45 mph. Indications are we should see Harvey move over land again within the next 24 hours or so around the Texas/Louisiana state line and move north and then northeast.
The exact path of this storms into or near our area is crucial. The more of a shift we see to the east, the lower the rain amounts will be in Texas. I say that so you don’t focus on any one specific rain amount in an area. I believe the potential will be for 3-6 inches of rain in extreme east Texas, Louisiana, and south Arkansas. However, there could be some isolated higher amounts near 10 inches if the storm moves slow enough and where it moves.
The best chance for rain will start Wednesday and go into Thursday. Stay alert and don’t drive into standing water. Flooding is “possible” in low lying areas and in areas where heavy rain may occur.
NOTE: LIKE I HAVE SAID BEFORE…THIS FORECAST CAN CHANGE AND LIKELY WILL. patrick.
