The upcoming week will be characterized by winter and spring battling out for a permanent hold on the weather pattern, with slight rain chances and cool to comfortable afternoon temperatures.
This morning, winter is winning, with temperatures in the mid to upper 30s with partly cloudy skies. A few areas north of I-30 are in the low 30s near freezing.
Partly cloudy skies are expected for much of the day. After the cold start we will warm into the low to mid 60s this afternoon, exactly where we should be in late February. Temperatures will be at or above normal for much of the upcoming week.
A series of weak upper level disturbances will move through beginning tomorrow and continuing for much of the week. While we won’t have any significant rain or severe weather chances. slight rain chances will be with us Tuesday through Saturday (20 to 40 percent each day). 7 day rainfall accumulations will be 1 inch or less in most areas, speaking to the idea we don’t have any significant storms or severe weather makers this week. What we will enjoy is highs in the 60s and 70s through Friday. It appears a late week cold front will drop highs into the 40s and 50s next weekend.
