Rain and Storms On the Increase

Friday morning was similar to Thursday morning with a cool start. Clouds are on the increase and soon it will mean rain for everyone in the future. Today, the rain has kept Texarkana and cities to the north on the wet side. The line of showers  will continue to move south over the next couple of hours. However, we will see more showers and storms over the next few days. Saturday, rain coverage will be the best around I-30 and to the north and west. Sunday, everyone will see a good shot for showers and storms as the cold front moves south. Usually once a cold front moves through the rain will end. In this situation, overrunning will setup over the ArkLaTex region which means rain will linger into early next week. I have bumped up rain chances to 60% from Sunday into Tuesday.

I am expecting a cold rain Monday-Wednesday with highs in the 50s into the lower 60s. Drier air should begin working in during the second half of the work week. By next week, we will see rain amounts average between 1-3″. The heavier amounts will be in Southeast OK and Southwestern AR.

In the tropics, Michael is now a post tropical system in the Atlantic Ocean.
