Rain chances begin to increase Friday. Rain brings cooler daytime temperatures for the weekend. Nice cool down still expect by the end of next week.
830pm Live Update:
Wednesday was another partly cloudy and hot day around the Arklatex. Temperatures began in the mid 70s and have returned to the mid to upper 90s. Rain was once again rather hard to find. Don’t expect much change for Thursday. We’ll once again see a mix of sunshine and clouds with a very slight chance for the hit or miss thunderstorm. Temperatures will once again begin in the mid 70s and will top out in the low to mid 90s. See the latest outlook from Futurecast below. Check back to this article often as it continuously updates.
The upper level ridge that has been keeping us hot and rather dry is slowly moving to the east. Behind it will will see a disturbance approach the area Friday and move into the region Saturday. Rain is now looking most promising for Saturday with showers and a few thunderstorms looking very promising. Models are still indicating that we could receive a good one to two inches of rain over much of the area from now through Sunday.
The chance for rain will continue but will decrease to close the weekend and head into next week. Temperatures wil be cooler this weekend with highs returning to the low to mid 80s. Lows will stay above normal in the low to mid 70s.
It still appears that we’ll see a strong cold front move through our area late next week. Models still indicate that lows could drop into the 50s and highs in the 70s and low 80s.
