Dry and warm weather to stick around Friday. Chance for rain returns this weekend. Cooler air on the way late next week.
Thursday saw a mix of sunshine and more clouds over much of the area. Lows began in the low 70s and warmed into the upper 80s and low 90s. Don’t expect much change to close the work week Friday. We’ll continue to see the mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will once again begin in the low 70s and should warm back to the upper 80s to low 90s. It still looks like the upper level ridge of high pressure will shift more to the east by this weekend. That will allow a chance for a few scattered storms to return mainly over the southern half of the area Saturday afternoon. That rain threat will likely increase Sunday. Temperatures this weekend will stay above normal despite the chance for rain returning. Expect overnight lows to stay in the low 70s. Daytime highs will mainly be in the mid 80s.
Our next best chance for rain will likely return Wednesday when a front moves through the region. This front will bring some cooler air but we will have to likely wait until next weekend to see some much cooler air invade the Arklatex. By the end of next weekend or beginning of the following week we should expect to see lows in the 40s and 50s and daytime highs in the 70s with some 60s possible. It also appears that the chilly air will stick around. Stay Tuned!!
Average High/Low for today’s date: 82/59.
