Sunshine to stick around for one more day. Warming trend begins Wednesday. Our next front to bring a little rain Saturday.
Tuesday was another pleasant day around the Arklatex. Temperatures began in the 40s and 50s and struggled to make it into the upper 60s to low 70s. Expect the sunshine to stick around for one more day. We’ll see plenty of sunshine Wednesday as we begin a small warming trend. Look for highs Wednesday to climb into the low 70s. Overnight lows will probably be well below normal in the low 40s. Clouds will return starting Thursday. Despite the clouds, look for the warming trend to continue. Highs both Thursday and Friday will climb into the mid 70s. Overnight lows will warm into the 50s by Friday morning. We will see a very slight chance for a shower Friday.
Rainfall chances will likely increase Saturday as our next cold front moves into the area during the morning. While a few rumbles of thunder will be possible, severe weather looks unlikely as the front will likely move through before we get warm enough for the atmosphere to destabilize enough. As of right now, models don’t really show that much rain. I’d expect totals to be less than 1/2 inch for most of the area.
Much cooler air will quickly move in behind this front. For what could be the final time this season, lows Sunday and Monday nights will likely dip into the 30s. Daytime highs will retreat to the 50s and 60s. It now appears that we should see plenty of sunshine return as soon as Sunday. We’ll have to keep an eye on a disturbance that will move to our south. Previously, models indicated that this could bring us a chance for some rain Sunday and Monday. All models now indicate that this system will stay well to our south. Stay Tuned.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 72/48.
