Quiet weather pattern settles in for the next several days. Good chance for rain returns just in time for the weekend. Slightly above normal temperatures to stick around.
Sunshine returned to the Arklatex Monday after severe storms moved across a part of the area last night. Those storms produced a preliminary EF2 tornado in De Kalb, TX. That could be upgraded as the NWS survey is incomplete. Temperatures across the area today climbed into the low to middle 60s which is more than 5 degrees above normal.
Expect little change in our weather for the next few days. The gusty wind will gradually wind down across the area Monday night. Temperatures under a clear sky will dip to normal level in tlhe low to mid 30s. Daytime highs Tuesday will be slightly cooler than today as we peak in the upper 50s to low 60s. Highs will likely stay in the low 60s and low will stay in the 30s through Friday.
Our next disturbance will arrive Saturday. Right now I’m not too concerned about seeing a repeat of the severe weather that we had last night. As of right now, it looks like our rainfall totals should be relatively light with amounts of 1/4 to 1/2″ possible. The best chance for thunder will likely be to the east of the Arklatex. We will likely close the seven day period with the return of some sunshine Sunday and Monday.

Average High/Low for today’s date: 58/36.
