Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move into the Arklatex this afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center still indicates that we have an ‘enhanced’ risk for severe storms. It still appears that damaging straight-line wind will be our biggest threat with large hail and a few tornadoes possible. Regional satellite/radar loop below shows a complex of storms between Dallas and Abilene that are headed our way.
The latest run of Futurecast shows the storms moving on a course further south than was indicated last night. These storms will move through the area this afternoon. The model indicates that more storms will be possible late tonight further north. A third wave of strong to severe storms will be possible tomorrow afternoon.
