Sunshine to return to the Arklatex Tuesday and continue through the work week. More showers and thunderstorms look likely this weekend.
A cold front made its way through the Arklatex Monday bringing a line of showers and thunderstorms. Cooler and drier air will gradually move into the area during the next few days bring plenty of sunshine that will stick around through Friday. Expect daytime highs to cool into the upper 60s to low 70s Tuesday. We’ll cool into the 50s for highs Wednesday and then warm back to the 60s and 70s for highs Thursday and Friday. Expect overnight lows to dip into the 30s and 40s Monday night and the 30s Tuesday and Wednesday night. Lows should return to the 50s by the weekend.
Another disturbance will move into the Arklatex this weekend. Expect a mostly cloudy and breezy Saturday with showers and thunderstorms increasing during the day. That rain will likely end Saturday night and sunshine will likely return to much of the area Sunday and Monday. As of right now models indicate that a good inch or two of rainfall will be possible with the heaviest rain likely over the eastern half of the area.
