Wednesday looking sunny, windy and much warmer. Weak disturbance bring a little light rain Thursday. More rain looking more likely late Saturday and Saturday night. Cooler air returns just in time for the weekend.
Below normal temperatures returned to the Arklatex Tuesday. Morning lows were in the upper 20s to low 30s. Daytime highs were mainly in the low to mid 50s. We will see a drastic warm up Wednesday and Thursday. Look for the sunshine to continue Wednesday. It will combine with a gusty south wind to warm temperatures into the upper 60s to low 70s. That is nearly twice as warm as the low temperature that will bottom out in the mid 30s.
Thursday will be another warm day with highs in the mid to upper 60s. This despite lots of clouds and some scattered showers. Rainfall chances are looking rather slim and if you get some rain Thursday it likely won’t be much. Models indicate that rain totals will probably be less than 1/10″. Cooler air will return to the Friday and will stick around for the rest of the 7 day period. Expect lots of clouds Friday with highs in the low to mid 50s.
A second disturbance will give us another chance for some light rain that will begin Saturday afternoon and will continue off and on through Saturday night. This rain will be followed by a mostly cloudy day Sunday and some sunshine Monday. A third disturbance will bring another round of light rain Tuesday. If you add the rain from all three systems, models indicate that most of the area will see totals in the 1/4 to 1/2″ range. Look for highs this weekend through the first half of next week to be in the 40s and 50s. Lows will mainly be in the 30s.
Average high/low for today’s date: 59/37.
