Weekend to begin with near normal temperatures. It ends with the beginning of another warm up. Next best shot at rain returns Tuesday. Pattern change could be on the way after next weekend.
We experienced a mainly dry day around the Arklatex Friday with lots of sunshine over the southeast 3/4 of the area and more clouds over the NW. Expect much of the same to begin the weekend. With drier air in place overnight lows Friday and Saturday nights should be close to normal in the upper 50s to low 60s. Daytime highs will be in the low to mid 80s. The weekend will end with the return of the heat and more humidity. Look for daytime highs Sunday to return to the mid to upper 80s.
Those warm temperatures and the rather humid conditions will continue through next week. We will see a minor disturbance bring a better shot for a few scattered showers and t’showers Tuesday. Rainfall amounts still look rather light Tuesday with totals likely staying below 1/4″. If you don’t get any rain Tuesday, you may have to wait until the end of next weekend. A few models are indicating a cold front could approach the area and bring us another shot at some rain. In the longer range, models are hinting that we will see a bit of a pattern change that will allow cooler air to invade our area more often. The first of those cool downs will arrive sometime during the second week of October.
Average High/Low for today’s date: 84/61
